Monica has special interests in Women’s health including contraception options, Skin checks, Travel consultations, Weight management and Iron infusions.
Monica graduated from Monash University in 2014. She then went on to gain
valuable hospital experience through Monash Health and Austin Hospital. Monica
has been working in General Practice since 2018. She is passionate about providing
quality healthcare so that patients feel educated and empowered. Monica is excited
to be a part of the team at Verve Family Doctors, having grown up locally in Doncaster East.
She enjoys exploring the great outdoors with her young family, curating her indoor plant collection and playing board games with friends.
Monica has completed additional training to be able to provide patients of Verve Family Doctors consultations for:
- Women’s Health and Contraception Options, including Implanon and IUD Insertions/Removals
- Skin Checks
- Weight Management (SCOPE certified provider)
- Travel Consultations
- Iron Infusions
Fees charged by Dr Monica Foong
Dr Foong’s fees are guided by the AMA recommended rates. Aged Pensioners will be bulk billed. Other concession and Health Care Card holders will be charged a substantially discounted fee.
Patients who hold a DVA card are billed according to DVA Guidelines (see https://www.dva.gov.au/access-benefits/veteran-card). Visits by Gold card holders are almost always billed to DVA, while visits by White card holders can only be billed to DVA for eligible conditions.

Telehealth: consultations are charged at the same rate as face-to-face appointments (see fees above).
Missed Appointment fee: Dr Foong may charge a fee if you miss your appointment, and do not cancel with at least four hours’ notice.

Full payment is charged at the time of the visit, leaving the following out-of-pocket GAP after Medicare reimbursement of the relevant item numbers.

Contraceptive Implant Insertion or Removal

Mirena Removal and Insertion
Mirena removal requires a 30 minute appointment.
Mirena Insertion requires a 30 minute pre consultation and a 30 minute consultation for the procedure.
Weight Management
1 hour for initial appointment, subsequent appointments are 30 minutes. The out of pocket gaps for Initial Weight Management appointments (after Medicare rebates) are shown in the table above. Follow up weight management appointments should be booked as Standard Appointments and will attract a standard consultation fee.
Skin Checks
For checking a skin spot a 15 minute consultation is required, 30 minutes for a whole body check. Standard consult fees apply, including aged pensioners. Fees for procedures and excisions will be dependent on complexity and will be discussed if required.
Iron Infusion
An Initial 15 minute appointment would be required to organise the iron infusion. Once completed an hour appointment is required to be booked with the nurse through reception.
Travel consults
Travel to Africa and South America is booked as 30 minutes, while other destinations are booked as 15 minute appointments. This appointment must be booked through reception as a booking with the nurse is also required . All travel consultations attract the standard out of pocket GAP amount.
