Ishani is an experienced General Practitioner with a special interest in obstetrics and women’s health across all stages of life. She undertook her Graduate Medicine degree at Deakin University, completing this in 2011. Prior to specialising in General Practice, she worked across a variety of major metropolitan hospitals, including Austin Health and The Mercy Hospital for Women, gaining experience in acute care within busy Emergency Departments, as well as in geriatric and paediatric medicine.
Ishani holds a Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, recognising her knowledge and skills in this field. Her special interests include pre-pregnancy planning, pregnancy support, and the management of perimenopause and menopause. She is also experienced in Implanon (contraceptive rod) insertion and removal, as well as the removal of intrauterine devices.
She is committed to providing holistic, evidence-based care, with a strong emphasis on supporting long-term health and wellbeing. With a background in physiotherapy, Ishani incorporates musculoskeletal and preventative health strategies into her medical practice. As a GP at Verve Family Doctors, she values the continuity of care and the opportunity to build long-term relationships with her patients.
Outside of work, Ishani maintains an active lifestyle through Pilates and running, and enjoys exploring new cuisines through cooking.
Fees charged by Dr Ishani Saraswat
Dr Saraswat’s fees are guided by the AMA recommended rates. Aged Pensioners will be bulk billed. Other concession and Health Care Card holders will be charged a substantially discounted fee.
Patients who hold a DVA card are billed according to DVA Guidelines (see https://www.dva.gov.au/access-benefits/veteran-card). Visits by Gold card holders are almost always billed to DVA, while visits by White card holders can only be billed to DVA for eligible conditions.

Missed Appointment fee: Dr Saraswat may charge a fee if you miss your appointment, and do not cancel with at least four hours’ notice.
