Dr Shikha is co-owner of Verve Family Doctors and loves providing general medical care to families. Dr Shikha is also board certified in Lifestyle Medicine and holds fellowship with the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine. Dr Shikha is also a certified health coach and brings the coaching mindset into every consultation with her patients.
Shikha believes in harnessing the power of good nutrition, exercise, sleep and psychology to address health issues as the first line of treatment. Shikha is also SCOPE certified in obesity management and is passionate about helping people achieve good health and fighting weight stigma. She loves coaching her patients in using lifestyle medicine to address their health needs. Shikha also has a special interest in mental health and women’s health.
Shikha grew up in Perth, graduating from UWA in 2013, prior to moving to Melbourne to complete GP speciality training. She is happily married to her childhood sweetheart and goes by “Mummy!” when at home. She enjoys relishing this season of her life and spending time with her 2 energetic children. Shikha also likes to practice what she preaches by experimenting with healthy plant based cooking and finding fun ways to stay physically active.
Fees charged by Dr Shikha Chhabra
Dr Chhabra’s fees are guided by the AMA recommended rates. Aged Pensioners >65yo will be bulk billed. Other concession and Health Care Card holders will be charged a substantially discounted fee.
Patients who hold a DVA card are billed according to DVA Guidelines (see https://www.dva.gov.au/access-benefits/veteran-card). Visits by Gold card holders are almost always billed to DVA, while visits by White card holders can only be billed to DVA for eligible conditions.

Telehealth: consultations are charged at the same rate as face-to-face appointments (see fees above).
Missed Appointment fee: A fee equivalent of 50% of the expected consultation fee will be charged if you miss your appointment or do not cancel with at least four hours notice.
Additional service types and fees:
Full payment is charged at the time of the visit, leaving the following out-of-pocket GAP after Medicare reimbursement of the relevant item numbers.
Procedures offered:
- Iron infusion
- Contraceptive implant insertion/removal
- IUD removal

Weight Management
$50 enrolment fee- Provides access to online e-learning course.
Initital consult:
1 hour with $170 out of pocket ($372.65 paid on the day with $202.65 medicare rebate)
Follow up consults are charged as per standard consultation fees.
