Dr. Swaroopini Thangarajah is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner Obstetrician who adopts a patient-centred approach to healthcare.
Dr. Thangarajah has extensive post-graduate medical training, beginning with her internship at Box Hill Hospital. She currently works at Eastern Health (Box Hill Hospital) and Monash Health (Monash Clayton) maternity clinics. She also assists regularly for gynaecological surgeries and elective/emergency caesarean sections at various private hospitals.
As an Obstetrics and Gynaecology Registrar, she has performed a wide range of procedures, including Caesarean sections, vacuum and forceps deliveries, suction dilatation and curettage (D&C), hysteroscopies, and cervical procedures as the primary operator. She has supported hundreds of women through childbirth in the public health system. Her expertise and dedication ensure she provides exceptional care to her patients, making her a highly respected figure in the medical community.
Her qualifications include:
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP)
- Advanced Diploma of The Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) Advanced procedural
- Diploma of Child Health from Sydney University, Westmead’s Children’s Hospital
- Certificate in Primary Skin Cancer Medicine, University of Queensland
Fees charged by Dr Swaroopini Thangarajah
Dr Thangarajah’s fees are guided by the AMA recommended rates. Aged Pensioners will be bulk billed. Other concession and Health Care Card holders will be charged a substantially discounted fee.
Patients who hold a DVA card are billed according to DVA Guidelines (see https://www.dva.gov.au/access-benefits/veteran-card). Visits by Gold card holders are almost always billed to DVA, while visits by White card holders can only be billed to DVA for eligible conditions.

Contraceptive Implant Insertion or Removal

Mirena Removal
Mirena removal requires a 30 minute appointment.
Iron Infusion
An Initial 15 minute appointment would be required to organise the iron infusion. Once completed an hour appointment is required to be booked with the nurse through reception.
Skin Checks
For checking a skin spot a 15 minute consultation is required, 30 minutes for a whole body check. Standard consult fees apply, including aged pensioners. Fees for procedures and excisions will be dependent on complexity and will be discussed if required.
